Our Chaplaincy Team:
Fr. Michael Busch, Chaplain
Ordained to ministry in 1991, Fr. Michael is the Rector at St. Michael’s Cathedral. In the past he has served as a MC for Cardinal Archbishop Ambrozic and as a pastor in parishes in Unionville and Richmond Hill. Fr. Michael is also a member of the Sacred Art and Architecture Committee with the Archdiocese of Toronto. Come to mass on Friday to find out his favorite film!
Ms. Kim Gottfried-Piché, Director of Chaplaincy Services
Kim Gottfried is a campus minister & serves as the Director of Chaplaincy Services at RCCC. She has a background in kinesiology and holds a Master of Divinity Degree from the University of St. Michael's College, Toronto School of Theology. Kim enjoys being immersed and active in Ryerson's rich creative and cultural atmosphere. This year she is serving on the board of Canadian Catholic Campus Ministry. Her favorite TV show is ER, "it's action-packed and refreshes her knowledge of anatomy".
Fr. Chris Cauchi, Assistant Chaplain
Ordained a priest on June 24, 2005, Fr. Chris completed his seminary formation in Malta (Europe) & moved to the archdiocese of Toronto for further studies and pastoral experience. After serving at a parish in Scarborough, he became an associate pastor at St. Michael’s cathedral. Fr. Chris is also a part-time student at Regis College, University of Toronto. He considers “The Italian Job” (2003) to be the ideal movie after a hectic day. Fr. Chris is excited to be part of the Catholic Chaplaincy at Ryerson.
Fr. Edward Curtis, Assistant Chaplain
Father Ed Curtis is a native to Toronto. He grew up at St. Clair and Dufferin and attended St. Clare’s Parish with his parents and three siblings. Father Ed was an altar server from a very young age and felt a call to the Priesthood from an early age. He attended the University of Toronto and completed his undergraduate degree in Christianity and Culture from St. Michael’s College. Father Ed was appointed Associate Pastor of St. Joseph’s Parish in Streetsville, where he remained for just over a year. Recently, he was appointed by Archbishop Thomas Collins to be the Pontifical Master of Ceremonies and Assistant to the Archbishop. In addition to these duties, Father Ed now resides at St. Michael’s Cathedral and helps out there by working with the Chaplaincy Program at Ryerson University and celebrating daily Mass with the Cathedral community.
